QNAP firmware issues
Since years, QNAP seems to have serious problems releasing working firmware releases. This resulted in 6 firmware revocations in 2018. I will now publish a blogpost for every new firmware for the ARM series with Annapurna Labs CPU and document the known issues.
Known issues
- Notification for a new firmware via Mail fails
- this will be solved with QTS 4.3.5
RTRR backup to a second NAS created high load on the target NAS after backup finished- Network connection can not be reestablished in case of connection loss (router reboot or cable unplugged)
- DNS server set to 0.0.0.0 in static IP configurations
- must be changed manually after the update
- Write permissions issue
- can be solved with a downgrade
- QSYNC causes high CPU load
- can be solved with a downgrade
- Plex server not running
- can be solved with a downgrade
